Yasin Mohammed is a seasoned professional with a diverse procurement and supply chain management background. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from the State University of New York-Buffalo State University, an M.A. in Homeland Security focusing on Logistics Management from American Military University, and an M.B.A. from the University of Maryland.
Yasin's career journey began at the United Nations Office of Legal Affairs, where he developed a passion for logistics after being assigned to manage services for a conference. He continued to develop his supply chain expertise through other roles at the United Nations, the Department of Defense, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the International Criminal Tribunal in Sierra Leone, the United States Pharmacopeial Convention, Xerox Corporation, and his current position as the Director for the Office of State Procurement for the State of Maryland.
Yasin holds the following certifications: Certified Professional Public Officer (CPPO), Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) from the Universal Public Procurement Certification Council (UPPCC), Certified Procurement Professional from the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP-CPP), and Certified Maryland Procurement Officer (CMPO) from the State of Maryland. He's also a Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Methodology.
In his leisure time, Yasin finds joy in family moments, furthering his culinary skills and creating new experiences."
